Send Warmth to Romania or Moldova

Crestview Baptist Church responded to an invitation from Dr. Paul Negrut of Emanuel University (http://www.emanuel.ro/) by sending a team of 38 members to Oradea, Romania. The purpose of the trip was three-fold:

  1. Provide a music and evangelism program to the university and regional Baptist churches of Romania and Moldova.
  2. Have fellowship with the young ministers, teachers and businessmen and women in training at the university.
  3. Assess and begin planning for future mission and ministry opportunities.
While in Romania, the team provided music and preaching at several churches. They took part in street evangelism, visited orphanages and took part in many social service activities. Over the course of the trip there were several professions of faith made during ministry activities. Team members met with students, provided teaching and lectures, and met with local business leaders. Over 200 Romanian bibles were provided by the group.

PieceMakers, a needlework group that meets at Crestview Baptist Church, quilts, knits and crochets baby blankets and children's sweaters to send with the Romania or Moravia mission team each summer.

If you would like to contribute to this effort, we would welcome NEW hand-made baby blankets crafted from soft cotton, cotton/silk blend yarn or other SOFT natural fibers, and children's sweaters of soft wool, alpaca or a blend of these with either cotton or silk. Here are links to very simple baby blanket patterns:

    Hi Sandra,

I can't tell you how much the families loved the blankets. The families that received these blankets were the poorest of the poor in Romania. They are Gypsy and Turkish families with nothing to their names and barely a roof over their heads. We came into contact with these families through their children that attend a local Christian Day Center in Constanta, Romania. This Day Center provides a hot meal for these children each day, teaches Bible lessons and helps to prepare these kids for life. These kids already have 2 strikes against them in many cases, but when they get to the Day Center, God comes into their lives and we all know what that means.

Thank you again for your love for Christ and your ministry!

Copying Melissa on this email too. Thanks Melissa!

Blessings to you and your family,

    Greg Knight
